Activiteit in het kader van het Standpunt

The internet, big data and social networks have changed our everyday lives and much more is to come. The possibilities are endless but what threats to our privacy lurk in the digital world around us? How should data science be applied to sensitive health-related information?

On May 25, 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR that will  become active in the entire EU, and this has rightfully focussed the attention on our privacy. A solid understanding of the problems, issues, benefits and values can help to bring better services to the general public and still take profit of the progress in ICT. Hence the workshop addresses a broad audience of stakeholders,  media, data and ICT specialists, and journalists within the EU.

This workshop is the result of a new partnership of KVAB with the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE). The programme is largely based on two position papers published by KVAB in 2017 and translated to English in 2018.
