Samenvatting: Willem Jan Neutelings (b.1959- NL/BE) studeerde architectuur aan de Technische Universiteit Delft. Hij werkte bij het Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), voordat hij in 1987 Neutelings Riedijk Architecten in Rotterdam oprichtte. Het architectenbureau is internationaal actief, met een focus op het ontwerp van grootschalige openbare en culturele gebouwen. Enkele bekende realisaties zijn het Museum Aan de Stroom in Antwerpen, het Gare Maritime in Brussel, het Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid in Hilversum en het Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden. De projecten van het kantoor werden bekroond met verschillende internationale architectuur prijzen. Willem Jan Neutelings heeft als architect lezingen gegeven aan tal van architectuurinstituten over de hele wereld en was onder meer gastdocent aan het Berlage Institute te Rotterdam en de Graduate School of Design van Harvard University. Sinds 2020 is hij gepensioneerd en woont hij in Brussel.
