Flemish Committee for Scientific Integrity

The Flemish Committee for Scientific Integrity (Flemish abbreviation: VCWI) gives a second opinion on complaints relating to scientific integrity at Flemish research institutions. As a Flanders-wide platform for scientific integrity, it can also issue general recommendations.
The topic of scientific integrity has received increasing press coverage in recent years. In several countries, there were surprising cases of researchers who ignored  the scientific and moral standards of research. Since Flanders did not escape this trend and vigilance is called for, a Flemish Committee for Scientific Integrity has been established. It was set up on October 7, 2013 and is based within the KVAB, which takes care of its secretarial duties.
